2013, PC Sales Decline Worst
Sales of PCs ( laptops and desktop computers ) globally is expected to return a decline of 6.9 percent in the fourth quarter 2013 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the number of pengkapalan 82.6 million units.
The data described in the initial report Gartner reported by The Next Web. Estimates of this research institute noted that, overall, some 315.9 million PCs pengkapalan units in 2013 to 10 percent lower than in 2012.
That number was recorded as the biggest drop in the history of the PC market. The number of PCs shipped in 2013 fell to equal volumes recorded four years earlier, in 2009.
In line with Gartner report, estimates of the institute IDC research shows that the PC market declined by 5.6 percent year - over-year in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Culprit sluggish PC market, according to Gartner, is a mobile device based on Android - primarily - that many consumers purchased as gifts this holiday season towards the end of last year. This is supported by the average selling price of these devices are getting cheaper.
In the middle of that trend, Lenovo and Dell recorded a positive growth in the range of 6 percent, while other manufacturers, such as Asus and Acer on average suffered a decline of two digits.
